Job summary

Copeland is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform repairs and routine maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facilities to maintain production uptime. The role covers wiring, plumbing, electrical/mechanical maintenance, and simple set up operations.

The position requires 1–3 years in manufacturing maintenance, and proficiency in hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical operations, plus knowledge of 480V three-phase power and motor control. On-site with safety focus.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of work experience in manufacturing maintenance or equivalent.
  • Proficient in hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical operations.
  • Knowledge of 480V three-phase, control power, AC/DC circuits, motor starters and switchgear.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and blueprint reading ability.
  • Proficient with heat/temperature controls and shop mathematics.
  • Able to operate scissor/boom lifts and forklifts; lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose machine malfunctions and perform repairs and adjustments.
  • Install, repair, rebuild, and maintain facility equipment.
  • Perform minor fabrication using mills, lathes, grinders, etc.
  • Support manufacturing processes and complete required paperwork.
  • Maintain PLCs, CNC control circuits and primary power; ensure safety compliance.

Description

Position will be responsible for performing repairs and routine maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facilities within or outside the plant to maintain optimal up time of production equipment and upkeep of the facility. May perform wiring, plumbing, electrical/mechanical maintenance, repair, and installation. May do simple set up operation of machinery/equipment. May be on call to perform emergency maintenance on equipment or facility issues.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties;
  • effect repairs and adjustments as needed.
  • Install, repair, rebuild, and otherwise maintain facility equipment.
  • Perform minor fabrication of parts using mills, lathes, grinders, etc.
  • Support manufacturing processes.
  • Complete all required paperwork, quality records, documents, etc.
  • Perform competent electrical construction of conduit runs, wire pulls, terminations, and electrical component installations.
  • Maintain PLCs, CNC control circuits, and primary power.
  • Comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
  • Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
Additional Info

Must be able to work any shift. Some work may be outside, including on rooftops. Required to wear NFp7e Arc Flash uniforms provided by Copeland. Tools provided by company.

Requirements
  • 1 – 3 years of work experience in manufacturing maintenance or equivalent work experience and education.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical operations.
  • Knowledge of 480v three phase, control power, AC and DC circuits including motor starters and switch gear repairs.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in shop mathematics and blueprint reading.
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic experience.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and high work areas.
  • Proficiency with heat/temperature controls.
  • Able to take initiative and be self-sufficient.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to operate scissor lift, boom lift, forklift.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, stretch, twist, etc.
  • Regularly required to use fingers and hands.
  • Associate’s technical degree or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of gas fired burners and boilers.
