Job summary

Rural King is seeking a Receiving Associate in Indiana to efficiently load and unload shipments, prepare merchandise for the sales floor, and maintain stock levels. You will follow SOPs for apparel receiving, ensure accurate merchandising, and keep meticulous records.

Responsibilities include processing purchase orders, using scan guns, monitoring shortages, and assisting in store-to-store transfers. This role requires flexibility, reliability, and teamwork within a values-driven, people-first

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of receiving experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, remaining flexible and efficient.
• Proven track record of error-free work and quality.
• Ability to work independently without supervision.
• Comfortable navigating computer systems and software to assist customers or manage activities.

Responsibilities

• Execute precise purchase order processing by following SOPs.
• Utilize scan guns and computer-based software to ensure accurate receipt documentation.
• Monitor and address purchase order and DC shortages daily, communicating discrepancies.
• Maintain daily records by filing receiving paperwork.
• Contribute to efficient DC truck sorting and verify vendor price tags.
• Implement security tag placement and price labeling per SOP for select apparel items.
• Ensure adequate supplies inventory, including hangers, labels, and security tags.
• Handle store-to-store transfers, shipping and receiving with accurate recordkeeping.
• Assist in inventory management of sales floors during high-demand periods.
• Collaborate with the receiving team for smooth regular operations.
• Participate in company-established receiving protocols.
• Organize product onto carts for distribution and transport sorted freight to sales floors.
• Assist management with merchandise tracking and transfers, including negative on-hand inventory review.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the workspace.
• Operate general office equipment, forklifts, pallet jacks, and more.
• Cross-train for flexibility across departments and responsibilities.
• Engage in training programs and webinars to grow skills.
• Provide friendly and proactive internal and external support.
