Job summary

Rural King in Ashland, KY is seeking a Receiving Associate to support accurate receiving, inventory control, freight processing, and merchandise movement throughout the store. You will receive shipments, process orders, verify merchandise against invoices, replenish stock on the sales floor, and safely operate scanners, forklifts, and related equipment in a fast-paced environment.

Cross-training across store departments is encouraged.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of receiving, warehouse, or inventory experience preferred.
• Experience with purchase orders and shipping/receiving is a plus.
• Comfort with computers and scanning tools.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable and willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Receive shipments and process purchase orders according to SOPs.
• Use scan guns and computer systems to document receipts and inventory.
• Identify discrepancies and communicate PO, DC, and vendor issues.
• Maintain accurate receiving records and research negative on-hand inventory.
• Verify pricing, labels, and security tags.
• Unload, sort, organize, and distribute freight.
• Replenish stock and assist with floor inventory.
• Process store transfers and shipments (UPS, etc.).
• Follow merchandising procedures and stock levels.
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, and scanning devices.
• Maintain a clean, organized receiving area.
• Support other store departments as needed.
• Uphold Rural King’s Values and standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
