Job summary

Openwork in Houston is hiring a Receiving Associate to match receiving reports with yard backup and ensure accuracy. The role scans Mill Test Reports (MTRs) and supports inventory tasks under the Inventory Manager.

Responsibilities include reviewing receiving documentation, coordinating with vendors for MTRs, and managing inbound shipments. Some Saturday work and a flexible schedule are expected in this position.

Qualifications

• Must know Pipe, Fittings and Flanges.
• Some College Education preferred.
• 3-5 years of previous general office experience.
• Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) experience a plus.
• Good oral and written communications skills.
• Flexibility of schedule is helpful; some Saturday work possible.
• Accounting background or experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Scan MTRs (Mill Test Reports).
• Maintain missing MTR report and communicate with vendors to obtain MTRs.
• Set up Rail Cars and Vessels when help needed.
• Receive all Direct Shipments.
• Review all receiving documentation and match to system generated receiving report to ensure proper receiving.
• Discrepancies are reviewed by Receiving Supervisor and approved by Buyer and Inventory Manager.
• Copy damaged material documents and forward to Quality Manager.
• Daily maintain the Inbound Truck/Railcar check in/out for prompt checkout.
• Provide clerical support for Inventory Manager.
