Job summary

Global Market Foods is seeking a Receiving Clerk to manage the flow of goods in our facility. You will schedule deliveries and pickups, coordinate with outside storage, and direct dock traffic while ensuring accurate documentation of shipments and receipts.

Ideal candidates have strong organizational and communication skills, experience in shipping/receiving, and proficiency with inventory software. This is a full-time on-site role with company benefits in Bolingbrook, IL.

Job Description

As a Receiving Clerk, you will play a crucial role in managing the flow of goods in and out of our facilities. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling delivery and pick-up appointments, coordinating with outside storage facilities, managing dock door traffic, and ensuring accurate documentation of all shipments and receipts.

Essential Role Functions

• Schedule delivery and pick-up appointments according to customer requests
• Coordinate delivery and pick-up appointments with external storage facilities such as Seafrigo and First Logistics
• Direct dock door traffic to ensure smooth and efficient operations
• Audit, post, and file receipts using HighJump and SL systems to maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments
• Perform inventory adjustments for samples and other items as needed
• Manage UPS shipping for sample orders, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, external vendors, and carriers to resolve any issues or delays in shipping and receiving processes
• Assist with other duties and projects as assigned by management
• Compares and reconciles physical inventory counts to those maintained in the inventory system
• Making entries for store returns and printing various related reports
• Verify total case count assembled by warehouse team to store invoice when applicable
• Complete necessary system maintenance to ensure accurate inventory accountability
• Recap audit results for weekly reporting

Work Experience/Requirements for This Role

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred
• Proficiency with shipping and inventory management software, such as HighJump and SL systems is highly desired
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in group setting
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics or supply chain management preferred
