Job summary

Grocery Outlet is seeking a Receiving Clerk to help operate the Receiving Department efficiently. You will enter data, process and file receiving documents, and maintain accurate records under the RFC Operations Manager.

The role requires 1+ years in shipping/receiving, forklift experience, strong data entry and Excel skills, and a focus on SOX compliance and customer service.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in shipping and receiving role or within logistics, freight carriers, or warehouse operations.
• Experience safely operating forklifts, pallet jacks and other warehouse tools (training provided).
• Ability to deliver information clearly to team members and customers.
• Ability to comply with all policies (SOX compliance).

Responsibilities

• Monitoring inbound and outbound deliveries.
• Inbound scheduling by Phone, Email or Online.
• Working with Transportation to ensure work is ready.
• Receiving BOLs from all delivery drivers and verifying quantities.
• Creating and scanning receiving documents daily.
• Checking and recording merchandise quantities against POs and specs.
• Logging and tracking problems; contacting parties to resolve.
• Reconciling purchase orders.
• Closing and dispatching outbound loads when ready.
• Inputting high volumes of data into spreadsheets for incoming merchandise.
• Recording and reporting shortages and discrepancies.
• Communicating returns, rejections and credits over phone/email.
• Ensuring friendly, efficient, professional customer service.

About The Role

Working closely with the Warehouse Supervisor, this position is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the Receiving Department. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, data entry, processing and receiving documentation, maintaining accurate records and other receiving related activities. This role reports to the RFC Operations Manager.

Responsibilities Include

• Monitoring inbound and outbound deliveries.
• Inbound scheduling by Phone, Email or Online.
• Working directly with the Transportation team ensure work is ready.
• Receiving BOLs from all delivery drivers, verifying that the quantities match the Receiving Document.
• Creating and scanning receiving documents daily.
• Checking and recording the quantity of the merchandise for conformity to purchase orders and specifications.
• Logging and tracking all problems relating to receiving/shipping, contacting all parties involved to ensure each is aware of the problem.
• Reconciling purchase orders.
• Close and dispatch outbound loads when ready.
• Accurately inputting a high volume of data on various spreadsheets concerning incoming merchandise in a timely manner.
• Recording and reporting shortages and discrepancies.
• Communicates efficiently and concisely over the phone, in person and through e-mail to coordinate returns, rejections and credits.
• Ensures friendly, efficient and professional customer service.

About The Pay

• Base Salary Range: $22.00 Hourly
• 401(k) Profit Sharing.
• Medical, Dental & Vision.
• Employees are eligible to earn up to ten (10) days of vacation per year. Vacation time is accrued each pay period and is not granted in full at the start of employment.
• Final compensation will be determined based upon experience and skills and may vary based on location.

About You

• 1+ years of experience in shipping and receiving role or within logistics, freight carriers, or warehouse operations.
• Previous experience with safely operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse tools (training provided if needed).
• Ability to deliver information in a clear and concise manner to fellow team members and customers.
• Ability to comply with all WFM policies and procedures.
• Excellent data entry skills.
• Ability to effectively use Microsoft Excel.
• Strong customer service skills.
• High attention to detail and thoroughness in approach with all paperwork.
• Ability to work well with others, self-motivated and capable of working independently.
• Making sure the department is meeting all SOX compliance.
