Aerotek seeks a Receiving Team Lead to oversee day-to-day receiving operations in a small, hands-on warehouse team in Bentonville, AR. You will guide a team, coordinate inbound freight, perform check-ins and putaways, and ensure safety and productivity targets are met on the floor.

You will use WMS and RF scanning to maintain accuracy, coach associates, and communicate with client managers on inbound issues. This is a contract-to-hire onsite role.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership on the floor coordinating a small team.
• Receiving/freight handling experience preferred.
• Experience with WMS and RF scanners in a warehouse setting.
• Forklift experience preferred; certification a plus.

Receiving Team Lead

Job Description

The Receiving Team Lead oversees the day-to-day operations of the receiving department in a hands-on, floor-based role. This position coordinates inbound freight, ensures accurate and timely check-in and putaway of all products, and guides a small team of receiving associates to meet productivity and quality goals while maintaining a safe and organized work area.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and support a team of receiving associates during your shift, providing clear direction and coaching as needed.

• Coordinate inbound schedules, dock assignments, and trailer unloading to ensure efficient and timely receiving operations.

• Verify inbound shipments against purchase orders and advance shipping notices, resolving discrepancies such as overages, shortages, and damages.

• Ensure accurate receiving, labeling, and putaway of inventory within the warehouse management system (WMS).

• Monitor daily productivity and quality metrics, keeping the team informed of goals, progress, and performance expectations.

• Communicate with client account managers regarding inbound issues, delays, or exceptions in a professional and timely manner.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area, enforcing safety practices including forklift and dock safety.

• Assist with cycle counts and support inventory accuracy initiatives across the facility.

• Step in to unload, scan, and put away product during peak volume or as operational needs require.

• Escalate personnel or operational issues to the Site Manager when appropriate to ensure smooth operations.

Essential Skills

• Proven solid performance and reliable attendance in a current or recent role.

• Warehouse or fulfillment experience, with receiving experience strongly preferred.

• Demonstrated leadership on the floor, such as training new hires, stepping up during peak periods, or covering for leads.

• Experience using a warehouse management system (WMS) and RF scanners in a receiving or inventory environment.

• Forklift experience preferred, with forklift certification considered a plus.

• Strong attention to detail when working with counts, SKUs, labels, and paperwork.

• Clear and confident communication skills to give direction, coach teammates, and interact professionally with clients.

• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for a full shift in a warehouse environment.

• Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes and basic inventory control practices.

• Experience in a small facility or small team environment where cross-training and flexibility are valued.

• Background in fulfillment operations, including coordinating inbound freight and dock activities.

• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changing priorities throughout the shift.

Work Environment

This role is based in a small, non-climate-controlled warehouse facility operating Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The receiving area uses multiple fans and heavy industrial fans at each bay door to improve air circulation. Work is performed on the floor in an active warehouse environment, with regular lifting, walking, and use of equipment such as forklifts, RF scanners, and a warehouse management system. Attire is practical and suitable for a hands-on warehouse setting, with adherence to all safety guidelines and requirements.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bentonville, AR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
