Job summary

Professional Contractor Supply in Columbus, OH seeks a detail oriented Receiving Associate for our new distribution center. This full-time role focuses on accurate inventory and smooth operations at our Columbus facility.

Starting pay ranges from $20.00 to $23.33 per hour. The position requires 3+ years in receiving/inventory control, OSHA 10, and forklift certification, with some Saturdays for inventory. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a safety-focused work environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in receiving, inbound, or inventory control.
• Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs to load packages.
• Proficient with computer systems and data entry.
• Must be OSHA 10 certified.
• Required to work some Saturdays for inventory.
• Must be certified to operate all materials handling equipment (forklift, reach, order picker).

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records and assist with inventory control.
• Accurately receive all products and inspect contents for damages.
• Handle all necessary paperwork upon shipment receipt.
• Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated places.
• Assist warehouse manager/supervisor and place merchandise in proper stock areas.
• Follow safety policies and report accidents per policy.
• Communicate with Purchasing, Accounts Payable, and Sales teams on issues.
• Keep receiving areas neat and equipment in safe locations.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely task completion.

Professional Contractor Supply is seeking a detail oriented Receiving Associate to support operations at our new Columbus, OH distribution center! This position plays a key role in keeping our inventory accurate and our operations running smoothly.

Starting Pay: $20.00 - $23.33 per hour

• Maintain accurate records and assists with inventory control.
• Accurately receives all products.
• Handle all necessary paperwork upon shipment receipt.
• Inspect all the contents for damages and volume.
• Manage and return incorrect shipments.
• Communicate with the Purchasing department and Accounts Payable when a mistake is identified.
• Communicate with the Sales team regarding key customers, receipt of next day items, damaged orders, or other related issues.
• Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place.
• Assist warehouse manager/supervisor personnel in performing tasks; sort and place merchandise in proper stock areas.
• Maintain the receiving areas in neat and orderly conditions; make sure that all equipment is kept in safe and efficient locations.
• Assist in loading and unloading merchandise on delivery trucks.
• Follow safety policies and procedures in reporting accidents in accordance with company policy.
• Keep managers/supervisors informed of shortages, overages, damaged merchandise, and inventory control.
• Assume responsibility for the workplace safety of self and co-workers, and for the safety conditions of the work locations. Exercise and promote safe behaviors and demonstrate unyielding support of programs, rules, and policies regarding safety.
• Operate machinery and equipment while adhering to safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as eye protections, steel-toed boots, safety hat, high visibility safety apparel, and glove-Cut level 3 (A3).
• Always remain courteous and service-minded while dealing with other employees and customers.
• Maintain a neat appearance in accordance to company dress code policy.
• Maintain punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with other team members.
• Protect and maintain confidentiality of company trade secrets and other confidential or proprietary information including, without limitation, operations methods, customer information, and sales fata.
• Complete projects and assignments on time.
• Attend department meetings and trainings as requested.
• Complete other related duties as assigned by supervisor and/or department management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in receiving, inbound, or inventory control.
• Must be physically able to lift up to 50lbs in order to load packages.
• Must be a dependable worker with the ability to carry out a series of work instructions without constant supervision.
• Must be proficient with computer skills.
• Math and recording abilities.
• Be dependable and report to work in a timely manner.
• Ability to create a positive and productive working relationship with employees and customers.
• Work independently using effective problem-solving skills.
• Required to work some Saturdays for inventory.
• Must be certified to operate all materials handling equipment; forklift, reach, and order picker.
• Superior organizational and multitasking ability.
• Commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills with professionalism with respect to time management and meeting deadlines.
• Able to manage multiple, complex, on-going tasks and projects.
• Must obtain an OSHA 10.
