Job summary

RTX, a global aerospace and defense leader, seeks a student or graduate in Electrical Engineering for hands-on work on signal processing systems. You will implement and test C++ embedded functions on Linux, ensure software quality, and collaborate with hardware and software teams to meet mission requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform system integration on distributed heterogeneous signal processing systems running Linux.
  • Code, test, and integrate C++ embedded and real-time signal processing algorithms or control functions.
  • Defect resolution and maintenance of existing codebases.
  • Analyze numerical accuracy, runtime latency and system metrics.
  • Collaborate with systems, hardware, and software engineers to meet end-user requirements.
  • Support code reviews, static analysis and continuous integration.

What You Will Do:
  • Perform system integration activities on distributed heterogenous signal processing systems running Linux.

  • Collaborate with systems, hardware, and other software engineers to understand and implement end-user requirements.
  • Maintain high code quality by supporting code reviews, static analysis, continuous integration.
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major.
  • Must have a Minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship session
  • *Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience with developer tools (Git, CMake, GoogleTest, gdb, profilers, Jira, Jenkins, UML).
  • Embedded software development experience.
  • Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) Experience with scripting (Python, shell, bash).

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD.

RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
