Job summary

Commercial Metals Company seeks a detail-oriented rebar drafter to convert design data into precise placing drawings using MicroStation and rebar software. You will determine bar quantities, sizes, and bend shapes from project drawings and prepare detailed lists for fabrication, ensuring alignment with design documents.

You’ll coordinate with contractors and engineers to obtain missing information, maintain deadlines, and support a safe, productive work environment across fabrication and site

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Technologies preferred.
• Satisfactory completion of computer aided drawing software program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Convert design data into placing drawings through MicroStation and rebar software.
• Determine quantity, size, length, and bending shapes of bars from design drawings.
• Interpret data on design documents and establish rebar requirements.
• Prepare placing drawings for ironworkers to install reinforcing bars.
• Create bar lists for fabrication of reinforcement bars for each project.
• Communicate with contractor/architect/engineer to obtain missing information.
• Provide accurate placement drawings for approval and meet deadlines.
• Work in a team to promote productivity and participate in planning meetings.
• Ensure work area is clean, secure, and compliant with policies.
