Job summary

JP Mascaro & Sons is hiring for a Rear Load Driver at our Great Valley Division in Bridgeport, PA. The driver will operate a front load trash truck on subscription routes or municipal territories, following DOT regulations and company policies while delivering excellent customer service.

The role requires a valid PA CDL Class B with air brake endorsement, DOT medical clearance, and successful substance abuse screening.

Qualifications

• Valid PA CDL Class B or equivalent with air brake endorsement.
• Must meet DOT physical and medical requirements.
• Must pass a substance abuse screening.
• Ability to effectively deal with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Good attention to detail and dexterity for safe vehicle operation.

Responsibilities

• Operate a front load trash truck per DOT rules and company standards.
• Transport and dump municipal wastes at transfer stations or landfills.
• Coordinate with Route Supervisor, Dispatch or Operations Manager for instructions.
• Obtain load weight tickets and maintain related records (driver’s log, route sheets, etc.).
• Clean truck daily and perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Report maintenance issues promptly and perform other duties as assigned.

We have grown into one of the largest, most successful fully integrated solid waste companies serving the mid-Atlantic area.Come Join Our Family!Our Great Valley Division, located in Bridgeport, PA, is looking for reliable, motivated and hardworking Rear Load Drivers who play a critical role on the solid waste collection team to support our ongoing success in a family-like company environment while safely and responsibly removing our communities’ trash and recycling.What You Will Do:Operate a front load trash truck in accordance with DOT Regulations, Company policy, and in accordance with established standards for excellent customer service on established subscription routes or municipal territories as listed on daily route sheets, special orders, and regular work ordersResponsible for the safe and efficient operation of the truck, as well as the helpers assigned to the truckTransport and dump municipal wastes at a regulated transfer station or approved landfillCoordinate regularly with the Route Supervisor, Dispatch or Operations Manager to ensure all stops are picked up, and to receive any special instructions as well as communicate any questions materials, overweight or oversized itemsObtain load weight tickets and sign for loads and maintains any related records required, i.e. driver’s log, route sheets, work orders, special request work, missed pick up logs, etc.Clean truck daily to ensure the vehicle meets company expectations to include cab, and ensure that no trash remains in the truck after completion of the routePerform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections as outlined in the pre and post-trip vehicle condition reportReport any maintenance issues on the vehicle condition report (VCR) and report it immediately to the route supervisor or operations managerAs well as other duties as assignedWhat You Have:A valid PA Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class B or equivalent) with air brake endorsement.Must meet all required DOT physical and medical requirements and pass a substance abuse screening.As a safety sensitive employee, all drivers are subject to random substance abuse screening under DOT and company policy.Ability to effectively deal with customers and co-workers.Requires a high degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of the vehicle to prevent damage to truck, equipment, or surrounding items.Ability to sit in the cab of the truck for long periods.
