Job summary

Hansen Consulting Group LLC seeks a Reality Capture Specialist to operate NavVis VLX/MLX and drones on active construction sites, delivering 3D point clouds, photogrammetry, and imagery for progress tracking and condition documentation.

You will design SOPs, capture schedules, and coordinate with client leadership, field teams, and surveyors while managing data archives and advising on LiDAR and aerial capture strategies across planning to post-installation verification.

Qualifications

• Hands-on operation of NavVis VLX/MLX or comparable mobile LiDAR on active sites (on-site work).
• Experience flying drones for aerial capture with a valid remote pilot certificate (FAA Part 107 or local equivalent).
• Ability to capture, process, and QA 3D point cloud data, drone photogrammetry, and aerial imagery.
• Proficiency with LiDAR and BIM software such as NavVis IVION, ReCap, Navisworks, and Revit.
• Knowledge of survey control points and geolocating datasets; coordination with surveyors.

Responsibilities

• Operate NavVis LiDAR systems on active construction sites to capture 3D point cloud data.
• Plan and execute drone missions for aerial capture and site imagery in accordance with FAA rules and safety requirements.
• Process, QA and integrate LiDAR and drone data into unified datasets; deliver outputs for downstream use.
• Archive and back up all captured data per client standards and company SOPs.
• Coordinate scanning and flight schedules with client leadership and project teams.
