Job summary

Upgrade Resources in Falls Church, VA seeks a Reality Capture Manager - Virtual Construction to lead enterprise-wide adoption of reality capture technologies on active projects, mentor a small team, and collaborate with BIM and field teams.

This hybrid role requires 5+ years in BIM/VDC or geospatial, hands-on laser scanning with FARO/NavVis/Leica, and travel 50–75%. Competitive pay includes $100,000–$145,000 annually plus a $30,000 guaranteed bonus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in BIM/VDC, surveying, or geospatial data management.
• Hands-on experience with 3D laser scanning, photogrammetry, and LiDAR.
• Ability to travel 50–75% to active job sites.
• Proficiency reading and interpreting construction documents and shop drawings.
• Experience with ReCap Pro, FARO Scene, Leica Cyclone, NavVis, Revit, and Navisworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise-wide adoption of reality capture technologies across all phases of construction.
• Own the full data lifecycle, from field capture planning through processing and delivering actionable insights to project teams.
• Create and implement enterprise-wide SOPs for reality capture.
• Lead and mentor a team of 3 to 5 Reality Capture Associates in laser scanning, data processing, and emerging workflows.
• Provide training and technical support on reality capture technologies to broader project teams.
• Establish QC protocols that ensure accuracy of captured data on every project.
• Perform field capture on active job sites and process scan data into usable deliverables for project teams.
• Manage and evolve the toolkit, including NavVis, FARO, Leica Cyclone, DroneDeploy, OpenSpace, and ReCap Pro.
• Evaluate emerging technology and build business cases for adoption.
