Job summary

Arizona Public Service is seeking a Transmission Operations Engineer I/II to analyze transmission system conditions, perform power flow studies, and deliver real-time reporting to support grid reliability.

You will collaborate with operators and engineers, provide guidance during on-call rotations, and help implement flowgate methods while pursuing safe, efficient transmission operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited institution with two years of related experience.
• Experience applying engineering methods in transmission or power-system operations.
• Ability to interpret data and translate into actionable operational insights.

Responsibilities

• Analyze transmission system conditions using power flow, contingency, and operational studies.
• Develop real-time operational reports and data insights for the Energy Control Center.
• Identify trends, constraints and risks impacting transmission operations and market outcomes.
• Support implementation of flowgate methodology for transmission services.
• Collaborate with operators and engineers to troubleshoot and improve performance.
• Provide technical guidance and participate in on-call rotation.
