Job summary

Cruxx in Central New Jersey is seeking a hands-on software engineer to own the real-time navigation pipeline for an image-guided surgery system. You’ll develop production C++ components, test on bench and in cadaver labs, and collaborate with hardware and integration teams in an on-site role reporting to the Senior Software Engineering Leader.

You will translate research code into robust product software, build instrumentation and tests, and ensure regulatory documentation and traceability.

Qualifications

• Four or more years building production software in C++ for real-time, embedded, graphics or vision systems.
• Solid Python proficiency.
• Hands-on experience with Linux, build systems, CI and profiling tools.
• Experience turning research code into robust production software.
• Familiarity with robotics or image-guided systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and own production components of the real-time navigation pipeline in modern C++, with Python for tooling, prototyping and test.
• Translate research code from AI/R&D teams into robust product software.
• Develop instrumentation, benchmarking and test harnesses to prove accuracy and latency.
• Collaborate with integration and hardware teams on sensor, compute and device integration.
• Write software with regulatory considerations: requirements, traceability, tests and documented decisions.
• Review code and provide constructive feedback.
