Job summary

Sheppard Pratt Careers in Towson, MD is seeking a Staffing Coordinator to manage intraday staff planning and timekeeping, making staffing adjustments based on real-time patient traffic and unit needs.

You will partner with unit managers to create efficient schedules, account for holidays, leave, training, and events, and help ensure policy alignment. You will also produce robust reports, identify workforce optimization opportunities, and escalate urgent actions as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 1-2 years administrative and/or clinical work experience in a clinical setting, including at least one year of staffing experience.
• Preferred minimum of 1 year of experience in Staffing coordinator, Timekeeper or Workforce Analyst.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PPT).
• Ability to work independently, manage a high call volume and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Incorporate staff planning and intraday schedule management to adjust staffing as needs change.
• Provide insights to unit managers for efficient scheduling around holidays, leave, and events.
• Support policy alignment and recommend tools to optimize workflows.
• Create robust reporting and analyze trends (census/acuity, staff allocation) to inform leadership decisions.
• Escalate urgent actions to meet Joint Commission and state standards when required.
