Job summary

MVM, Inc. seeks a Linguist fluent in Spanish (Mexican dialect) to provide real-time and recorded transcription for sensitive law enforcement work across client sites in Tucson and beyond.

You will capture accurate, court-ready transcripts and decode slang and codes, with shifts up to 40 hours per week and variable day/night coverage. You’ll transcribe, translate, and maintain voice and slang libraries, using government tools and ensuring timely communication with clients while meeting strict

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of translation experience in Spanish.
• Knowledge of Mexican Spanish colloquialisms and slang.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Spanish grammar.
• Must type 45 words per minute.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Listen to live or recorded Spanish communications and produce synopses and transcripts.
• Transcribe and translate as required for court-ready outputs.
• Communicate pertinent information to law enforcement personnel in a timely manner.
• Build and maintain slang and code term lists for project use.
• Operate project tools and maintain daily productivity logs.
• Meet daily minimum transcription targets.
