Job summary

Midcontinent Independent System Operator, Inc. seeks a Power System Operations Engineer II to join its Real Time Operations group.

The role trains to maintain the EMS and learn to monitor ICCP/SCADA inputs, supporting reliability across the MISO footprint. In this reserve-engineer pathway, you’ll build expertise, discuss operations processes, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, with a base salary of $95,000–$105,000 USD and a 7.5% shift differential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• Willingness to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.
• Programming experience in C, C++, VBA, Perl, Python preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn and monitor EMS inputs and State Estimator.
• Develop familiarity with the MISO footprint and EMS operations.
• Collaborate with operators and stakeholders to maintain reliability.
