Job summary
MISO is seeking a Senior Power Systems Engineer to analyze future operating conditions of the Bulk Electric System and determine actions to maintain existing facilities and enable new construction. You will perform advanced power-flow analyses on transmission and generation levels to ensure grid reliability and efficient energy markets.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering field as listed above.
- At least five years of relevant work experience.
- Power systems coursework preferred.
Responsibilities
- Build power system models in EMS/PSSE for near-term and long-term analysis.
- Perform power flow, contingency, and voltage/transient stability analyses.
- Identify outage-driven congestions and mitigation options for grid reliability and market efficiency.
- Decide on outage approvals, rescheduling, or denials based on engineering results.
- Coordinate outages with stakeholders and best practices for outage planning.
- Lead innovative automation and process improvement projects as needed.
- Collaborate with Real-time Operations, Market Operations and Transmission Planning to ensure reliability and efficiency.
