Job summary

General Motors is seeking a State Estimation Engineer to advance localization and sensor calibration for autonomous driving. You will design, architect, and deploy systems that pinpoint vehicle position and calibrate sensors to support subsystems.

Cross-functional collaboration and senior engineering interaction will shape future onboard capabilities. You will lead development for state estimation, localization and calibration, building validation infrastructure, CI pipelines, and testing

Qualifications

• Experience designing and deploying real-time software for localization and sensor calibration.
• Strong programming with C++ and Python, plus testing and integration expertise.
• Ability to influence technical strategy across engineering groups.

Responsibilities

• Drive design and deployment of state estimation, localization, and calibration solutions.
• Architect infrastructure for validating localization systems and monitoring performance.
• Enhance software quality with CI components, regression tests, and simulations.
• Own tools for prototyping, debugging on real vehicles, and test infrastructure.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate localization and sensing into AV systems.
• Influence roadmaps and align priorities with company milestones.
