Job summary

General Motors seeks a Senior State Estimation Engineer within the SEAM Embodied AI organization to drive sensor calibration and state estimation for autonomous driving. You will architect and deploy onboard localization solutions and mentor engineers across teams.

The role collaborates with cross-functional groups to ensure safe, real-time operation, influence roadmaps, and advance multi-sensor fusion. A Master’s/PhD and 8–10+ years in state estimation and sensor calibration are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 8–10+ years of experience in state estimation and sensor calibration for real-time onboard applications.
• Proven leadership and mentoring abilities across teams.
• Strong software engineering skills in C++ and Python.

Responsibilities

• Drive design, development, and deployment of state estimation and localization solutions.
• Lead complex projects from conception through onboard implementation with a focus on safety.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate localization and sensor alignment into autonomous systems.
