Job summary
ARETUM Holdings LLC's Veterans Engineering unit seeks an Eyes on Glass IT Incident and Event Management Specialist to support VA Event Management within the ECC MIEM team. You will work with major incident management, monitoring, problem management, and DevOps colleagues to safeguard enterprise systems serving veterans.
You will detect, investigate, and escalate issues across enterprise apps and tech stacks, enabling real-time triage and modernization efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering; or 13+ years of professional experience in lieu of a degree.
- 5+ years of systems administration and operations experience including performance monitoring and alert generation.
- 5+ years in application/platform support with monitoring tool configuration and incident response.
- 5+ years deploying and troubleshooting complex enterprise-scale applications.
- 5+ years' experience with multiple APM tools (Dynatrace, ScienceLogic, Elastic, AppDynamics, LogicMonitor, SolarWinds).
- 1+ years' experience with cloud technologies (AWS or Azure) and containerization.
Responsibilities
- Monitor enterprise applications and tech stacks to identify and triage incidents in real time.
- Collaborate with major incident management, monitoring, problem management, and DevOps teams.
- Correlate and deliver performance data across VA monitoring platforms to support incident response.
- Escalate critical alerts to VA stakeholders using workflow systems and multi-environment processes.
- Serve as a technical SME; refine alert thresholds with system, app, and network admins.
- Escalate monitoring tool issues to appropriate support teams and improve Knowledge Base articles.
- Support enterprise-level triage and incident resolution with VA system infrastructure exposure.
- Participate in shift-based support, including weekends, holidays, and off-hours.
