Job summary

MKS2 Technologies, LLC is seeking an experienced EOG Event Management Triage Engineer to support the VA Enterprise Command Center. This onsite role monitors and triages enterprise events impacting VA healthcare systems, coordinating with incident, monitoring, infrastructure, and cloud teams to ensure availability and performance nationwide.

The position involves real-time analysis, collaboration across technical domains, and maintaining robust documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 5+ years of relevant experience; or 13+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in enterprise IT operations, systems administration or infrastructure support.
• Experience supporting enterprise applications with monitoring and incident management.
• Proficient with multiple monitoring tools listed above and cross‑platform environments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor enterprise applications, systems, and infrastructure using advanced monitoring tools.
• Perform event triage, alert correlation, and root cause analysis.
• Support major incident response with real-time data and analysis.
• Escalate critical alerts to appropriate teams and stakeholders.
• Analyze trends and adjust monitoring thresholds and alerts.
• Collaborate with admins, app teams, network and cloud engineers.
• Maintain and improve operational documentation and knowledge bases.
• Support shift operations, including weekends and off-hours.

Education

Shift: 2nd Shift (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM CST)

Salary: $85,000 annually

About the Role

MKS2 is seeking an experienced EOG Event Management Triage Engineer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Enterprise Command Center (ECC). As part of the Major Incident and Event Management (MIEM) team, you will monitor, triage, escalate, and help resolve enterprise-wide system and application events impacting critical VA healthcare systems.

This position provides the opportunity to work directly with major incident management, monitoring, problem management, infrastructure, cloud, and application support teams to ensure the availability and performance of systems that support Veterans across the nation.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor enterprise applications, systems, and infrastructure utilizing advanced monitoring and APM tools.
• Perform event triage, alert correlation, and root cause analysis of performance and availability issues.
• Support major incident response efforts by providing real-time monitoring data and technical analysis.
• Escalate critical alerts and service disruptions to appropriate support teams and stakeholders.
• Analyze operational trends and recommend improvements to monitoring thresholds and alerting configurations.
• Collaborate with system administrators, application teams, network engineers, and cloud teams to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Maintain and improve operational documentation and knowledge base articles.
• Support shift operations, including weekends, holidays, and off-hours as required.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise IT operations, systems administration, or infrastructure support.
• 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications and platforms, including monitoring and incident management.
• 5+ years of experience deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise-scale applications.
• 5+ years of monitoring and troubleshooting experience with two or more of the following tools:
  • Dynatrace
  • ScienceLogic
  • Elastic
  • AppDynamics
  • LogicMonitor
  • SolarWinds
• 5+ years of experience supporting Windows, Linux/Unix, and mainframe environments.
• 1+ year of experience working with AWS, Azure, containers, SaaS, PaaS, or service virtualization technologies.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of experience; OR
• 13+ years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree.

Additional Requirements

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint).
• Experience tracking operational performance and supporting incident response activities.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms.
• Experience managing or supporting remote teams.
• Prior healthcare IT or VA environment experience.
• Experience supporting enterprise command centers, NOCs, SOCs, or major incident management teams.

VA Eligibility Requirements

To be considered, candidates must meet all VA credentialing requirements:

• Must be able to obtain a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) badge.
• Non-U.S. Nationals must have resided in the United States or U.S. Territories for a minimum of three consecutive years.
• Must comply with all applicable VA vaccination requirements, if required.
• Must be willing to complete the VA background investigation process, including the electronic application (eApp), employment history, residential history, and professional references.
• Salary: $85,000 – per year
