Job summary

Amazon in Seattle, WA is seeking a Software Development Manager for AWS Payments & Fraud Prevention to lead a data ingestion and intelligence team responsible for processing billions of events daily and building real-time detection capabilities. You will drive architecture reviews and partner with applied scientists to deliver fraud protection solutions at an AWS scale.

Qualifications

3+ years of engineering team management experience.
7+ years working directly within engineering teams.
3+ years designing or architecting scalable systems.
8+ years leading multi-tier web services development.
Experience with full software development lifecycle and live-site operations.
Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

Responsibilities

Own and operate a large-scale data ingestion platform processing 18+ billion events per day.
Lead real-time intelligence pipelines using Apache Flink for data aggregation and anomaly detection.
Drive the development of a graph database model to surface fraud signals.
Ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability of platform services including APIs at 4,500+ TPS.
Plan and execute the team’s multi-year technical strategy.
Collaborate with Applied Scientists to deliver data products for fraud detection.
Provide hands-on technical leadership and review architectures with SDEs.
Support downstream engineering and data science teams across the organization.
