Job summary

ITW family company MTS seeks an Embedded Software Engineer to develop real-time motor control software for customized embedded systems. You will work with a team of subject matter experts from concept through design to implementation, focusing on efficient, on-board control solutions for electric motors and VFDs.

The role requires a BS in a relevant field, at least five years of engineering experience, and proficiency with Matlab/Simulink and modern control chipsets.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in software, CS or electrical engineering.
• Minimum five years engineering experience.
• Experience with Matlab/Simulink for integrated controls design.
• Experience with modern control chipsets (TI, Xilinx).
• Ability to support customers and manage expectations.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software for motor control and VFDs.
• Model and simulate control systems and plant dynamics.
• Perform unit tests and bench testing to reduce full-system debugging.
• Create test plans and verification for software and system performance.
• Integrate software with motor prototypes in lab and on-site at customers.
