Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Firmware Engineer II – Motor Control to join our engineering team. You will design, prototype, test, and troubleshoot embedded motor control systems, developing advanced control algorithms under supervision and documenting architectures for mass production.

You will collaborate with global teams, apply model‑based methods in MATLAB/Simulink, and contribute to design reviews, testing, and validation. Excellent problem solving and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of embedded C/C++ experience for embedded systems.
• Working knowledge of closed‑loop control theory required.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink and model‑based design preferred.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, HIL, and software config management is a plus.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, test, and troubleshoot embedded motor control systems.
• Develop and refine control algorithms under supervision of senior engineers.
• Document control system architecture and test plans.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet milestones.
• Mentor junior engineers and review technical work.
