Job summary

Gryphon Place in Kalamazoo, MI seeks a Crisis Supervisor to lead frontline staff of the MiCAL crisis line. The role ensures high-quality intervention, staff guidance, and strict adherence to clinical protocols.

Responsibilities include real-time supervision, clinical escalation, shift operations, staff wellness, documentation, and cross-team collaboration. The position requires Michigan licensure and a Master’s degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field.
• Current licensure (LMSW, LPC, LP, or equivalent) in Michigan.
• Minimum 2–3 years of crisis intervention/behavioral health experience.
• Resident of Michigan.
• Certified Crisis Specialist or ability to certify within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, real-time supervision of crisis specialists during assigned shifts.
• Guide crisis intervention, suicide risk assessment, and de-escalation strategies.
• Manage shift coverage, call-outs, and transitions; monitor service levels.
• Foster a supportive, team-oriented environment and monitor staff well-being.
• Document incidents and shift activity; communicate with the Manager.
• Coordinate with MiCAL Crisis Services Manager and Training/Quality teams.
• Provide on-call leadership during evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
