Job summary

The City of Dothan Police Department seeks a Crime Analyst to provide real-time analytical and technical support for law enforcement operations. You will monitor CAD, LPR, surveillance, and other platforms to identify crime trends and deliver actionable intelligence.

Responsibilities include data analysis, reporting, and collaborating with interagency partners to enhance public safety. The role requires familiarity with crime analysis methods and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a standard senior-high school or GED equivalent, as recognized by USDE/CHEA.
• One year recent experience in law enforcement crime analysis or analytical support using public safety technology.
• Recent completion of a 120+ hour internship in Forensic Sciences, Criminal Justice, Criminology, or closely related field preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited college/university with a degree in Data Analytics, Public Safety, Criminal Justice, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Real-time monitoring and situational awareness to support field operations.
• Crime data analysis and reporting including trends, patterns, hotspots, and bulletins.
• Investigative support through analysis of digital evidence and suspect profiling.
• Interagency collaboration with local, state, and federal agencies to share intelligence.
