Job summary

Garner Police Department seeks a Crime Analyst Supervisor to lead analysts who support real-time operations, crime analysis, and event planning. You will supervise staff, ensure data integrity across RMS, CAD, and ALPR, and coordinate with patrol, investigations, and command staff.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least five years of crime analyst experience, with certification pending within six months of hire. Occasional after-hours support may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Statistics, Data Analytics, Public Administration, or a related major.
• At least five years of experience as a Crime Analyst.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Power BI, Excel, and Access.
• Possess current IACA and DCI/NCIC certification or be able to obtain within 6 months if hired.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, direct, and evaluate crime analysts in real-time and strategic analysis.
• Oversee RTIC daily operations, ensuring intelligence support for patrol and investigations.
• Ensure real-time coverage for intelligence operations and data support to patrol, investigations, and command staff.
• Serve as primary liaison between RTIC and sworn supervisors from Patrol and Criminal Investigations.
• Maintain readiness for major incidents and EOC activations; develop response workflows and protocols.
• Direct production of analytical products such as crime bulletins, trend reports, and hot spot mapping.
• Oversee data integrity across RMS, CAD, ALPR, and related analytical tools.
• Identify trends and provide data-driven recommendations for deployment and crime reduction.
• Ensure compliance with laws, CJIS policies, and privacy standards; review external data requests.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate analysts; develop onboarding and continuing education programs.
• Coordinate intelligence sharing with regional RTICs, fusion centers, and federal partners.
• Track performance metrics and prepare reports for command staff and town leadership.
