The Excalibur Group in Washington, DC seeks a Court Reporter to provide accurate, verbatim transcripts of legal proceedings, depositions, and hearings. This contract role requires independence, reliability, and a professional approach to sensitive materials.

You will operate specialized reporting equipment, deliver live transcripts with high accuracy, and, when needed, perform non-live transcription of audio or video recordings. Strong terminology knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Certified Court Reporter preferred.
• Must possess the technology to accurately take depositions, videography, and hearings.
• Must provide all supplies necessary for accurate reporting of a proceeding.
• Capacity to complete transcription services through audio or video recordings not in live time.
• Reliably punctual and deadline-oriented.
• Familiarity with legal and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Provide live/real-time transcription services with accuracy never below 99%.
• Accurately transcribe testimonies from medical experts, claimants, and attorneys.
• Digitally record and report proceedings.
• Provide transcription services from audio/video recordings not in live time.
• Write executive summaries and meeting minutes for proceedings.
• Proofread and edit transcripts for accuracy and deliver within deadlines.
