Job summary

BRINC is seeking a Backend Engineer to own the live-ops real-time backend that keeps our drone networks connected and safe. You will focus on low-latency telemetry, streaming, and robust uptime in high-stakes environments.

You will operate at the intersection of backend engineering, cloud infrastructure, and hardware-in-the-loop systems to ensure a solid, secure, and performant live operations platform in a fast-paced startup.

Qualifications

• 5+ years shipping high-quality code and building robust infrastructure.
• Experience building backend platforms from infrastructure to API layer.
• Experience with modern cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) and cloud DevOps.
• Familiarity with serverless architecture and scaling tradeoffs.
• Experience designing secure, scalable cloud architectures.

Responsibilities

• Own the scalable backend platform for real-time services.
• Ensure security, reliability, and performance of the platform.
• Build platform infrastructure and tooling.
• Rapidly prototype new project ideas for customers and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional hardware and autonomy teams on live data streams.
