Job summary

AMLI Residential, Legal & Risk Management in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Transactions & Risk Coordinator to support a growing real estate portfolio. The role focuses on organizing complex transactions from LOI through closing, coordinating due diligence, and ensuring closing readiness in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in real estate transactions or deal‑intensive settings, with strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in real estate transactions or deal‑intensive environments preferred.
Experience in multifamily or commercial real estate, due diligence or property management is a plus.
Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment and own assignments.
Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, attorneys, consultants and other stakeholders.
Willingness to travel occasionally to AMLI properties and transaction sites.

Responsibilities

Develop and manage deal calendars, checklists and trackers with a master calendar for leadership visibility.
Track transaction deliverables and follow up with internal teams, outside counsel and consultants to stay on schedule.
Review due diligence materials for completeness, consistency and risks; identify gaps and coordinate follow‑ups.
Develop processes, templates and SOPs to improve consistency and efficiency.
Plan and coordinate site visits, due diligence inspections and third‑party consultants.
Travel to AMLI properties to coordinate onsite due diligence and provide updates to leadership.
Intake, organize and track non‑disclosure agreements for real estate equity and debt transactions.
Manage disposition data rooms and track due diligence requests and responses.
Review closing binders for completeness and accuracy; maintain final records.
Coordinate and track post‑closing obligations.
Support insurance placements and maintain AMLI’s central insurance database.
