Job summary

Industrious in New York is seeking an Real Estate Associate to underwrite commercial lease deals, model cash flows, and validate assumptions across teams. You will work with Design, Construction, Finance, and Business Development to ensure accurate returns and practical deal support.

Key responsibilities include explaining IRR and margins, flagging pricing or occupancy risks, and guiding Investment Committee materials.

Qualifications

• Strong Excel modeling and ability to explain the model clearly.
• Experience analyzing or underwriting real estate deals, preferably in a team setting.
• Track record of accuracy and attention to detail across many tasks.
• Comfort collaborating with Design, Construction, Finance and Business Development teams.
• Ability to communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite assigned deals in Excel, tracking all assumptions from start date to IRR.
• Explain deal returns, including IRR, cash flows, P&L, and margins for decision-making.
