Job summary

Industrious is seeking a Real Estate Associate to underwrite landlord partnerships in New York. You will build and audit Excel models for start dates, budgets, rent, and returns, flag risks, and support decision-making across design, construction, and finance.

You will explain IRR and margins to the team, keep trackers up to date, and help prepare Investment Committee materials. This role offers growth as the team expands and you learn Industrious' underwriting approach.

Qualifications

• Strong Excel skills: IRR, NPV, and cash flow modeling.
• Experience underwriting deals in real estate or finance.
• Ability to explain model results clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Track record of accurate work in high-volume tasks.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite assigned deals in Excel and track assumptions.
• Explain deal returns including IRR, cash flows, P&L, and margins.
• Flag pricing, occupancy, CapEx/OpEx risks and required support.
• Ensure Design, Construction, and Finance figures flow into the deal.
• Support deal reviews and Investment Committee materials.
• Maintain trackers and checklists for deal flow.
