Qualifications

• Approximately 2–4 years of relevant professional experience.

Responsibilities

Location: New York City

A leading alternative investment firm is seeking an Investment Analyst / Associate to join its growing investment team. The firm invests across real estate credit, private credit, structured finance, and other asset-backed investment strategies.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior investment professionals throughout the investment lifecycle, including underwriting, due diligence, structuring, execution, and ongoing portfolio management. This is an opportunity to join a lean investment team and gain significant transaction exposure and responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite new real estate and private credit investment opportunities
• Build and maintain detailed financial models analyzing asset-level and investment-level cash flows, returns, credit metrics, and downside scenarios
• Perform credit, collateral, valuation, and portfolio performance analysis
• Conduct due diligence on prospective investments, including review of financial statements, operating information, third-party reports, legal documentation, market data, and other investment materials
• Assist with transaction structuring, term sheets, documentation, and execution
• Prepare investment committee memoranda, presentations, portfolio reviews, and other analytical materials
• Monitor existing investments, including financial performance, covenants, collateral, valuations, and other key performance indicators
• Perform periodic re-underwriting and scenario analysis and identify potential investment risks
• Conduct company, industry, real estate market, and macroeconomic research to support investment decisions
• Work closely with senior investment professionals and other internal and external stakeholders throughout the investment process
• Assist with portfolio reporting, valuation, and other investment management initiatives

Qualifications

• Approximately 2–4 years of relevant professional experience
• Experience in real estate investment, real estate credit, private credit, structured finance, investment banking, commercial banking, private equity, or a related investment role
• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, real estate, mathematics, business, or another relevant discipline
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
• Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with Argus and/or Python, VBA, SQL or other analytical tools is a plus
• Experience analyzing credit, cash flows, capital structures, investment returns, and downside scenarios
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prepare clear, concise investment memoranda and presentations
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced investment environment
• Intellectual curiosity, strong work ethic, and desire to take increasing ownership of investments and transactions
