Job summary

Qualifications

• At least four years of real estate background; concentration in right-of-way or corridor management preferred.
• Broad knowledge of real estate contracts, leases, licenses, and titles.
• Knowledge and working understanding of real estate legal descriptions.
• Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) and ArcGIS.
• Basic accounting skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to function and complete assignments in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment is essential

Responsibilities

• Maintain real estate management database consisting of active leases, licenses and easements.
• Perform periodic lease reviews and negotiate market rents within assigned real estate portfolio.
• Manage land encroachments, resolve property line disputes, and address unauthorized use of railroad land.
• Prepare periodic performance reports of real estate program, including ongoing interim financial review, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Assist with the acquisition, due diligence, and integration of new railroads and other real estate portfolios.
• Locate and identify encroachments within the right of way and enter information into geographic information system (GIS).
• Manage other projects and perform other duties as assigned.
• Periodic travel to each location as needed (10 to 15 percent)
