Job summary

Ares Management LLC is seeking an Associate for its Real Estate Equity team, focusing on underwriting and evaluating opportunities across industrial, multifamily, office, retail, and related sectors in the United States.

You will perform financial analysis, due diligence, and assist in asset management and eventual sale decisions, while building relationships within the real estate industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate or related field.
• 2–4 years of finance experience; real estate private equity or investment banking preferred.
• Advanced Excel; ARGUS helpful but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; travel ability.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed and complex financial underwriting models for real estate investments.
• Perform asset-level and market-level due diligence.
• Develop understanding of capital structure and project risks.
• Assess physical characteristics of properties and competitive advantages.
• Evaluate operating characteristics (revenue, expenses, capex, leases).
• Identify demand drivers; collect market data and synthesize into rent/absorption outlook.
• Assess execution ability of development teams and present conclusions to senior management.
• Support ongoing asset management and eventual sale decisions.
• Review legal documents with team and counsel during negotiations.
