Job description

Real Estate Paralegal
Full-Time In-Office

We are seeking an experienced, organized, and client-focused Real Estate Paralegal to join a busy real estate law practice. This is a hands-on position for someone who knows how to keep real estate transactions moving, is comfortable working directly with clients, and can manage multiple files and deadlines without losing attention to detail.

What You'll Do:
  • Prepare and review real estate transaction documents, including deeds, affidavits, transfer documents, closing documents, and other attorney-prepared forms.
  • Assist with residential real estate purchase and sale transactions from contract through closing.
  • Prepare attorney review and inspection correspondence as directed by the attorney.
  • Coordinate with clients, real estate agents, lenders, title companies, attorneys, municipalities, and other parties to the transaction.
  • Maintain files, deadlines, follow-ups, and transaction calendars.
  • Communicate frequently with buyers and sellers regarding the status of their transactions and outstanding items.
  • Obtain and organize documents and information needed for closings.
  • Assist with post-closing matters and file completion.
  • Provide general administrative and legal support to the attorney.
  • Notarize documents as needed.
What We're Looking For:
  • Prior real estate law or real estate transaction experience strongly preferred.
  • Smokeball experience preferred.
  • Strong real estate document preparation skills.
  • Illinois Notary Public commission preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable with heavy client interaction by phone and email.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a high-volume workload.
  • Detail-oriented and able to catch issues before they become problems.
  • Professional, dependable, and comfortable working independently.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Able to remain calm, organized, and responsive when multiple transactions need attention at the same time.
The Right Person:
  • You understand that real estate clients are often excited, nervous, confused-or all three at once.
  • You know how to communicate clearly, keep them informed, and help move a transaction toward closing.
  • You're the person who follows up before someone has to ask, notices when something is missing, keeps track of deadlines, and takes ownership of getting things done.
  • If you have real estate experience, enjoy working with people, and thrive in a busy environment where no two days are exactly the same, we'd like to hear from you.
