Anywhere Real Estate seeks an experienced Litigation Counsel to join its Real Brokerage Litigation Team. In-office role with flexibility for remote work; onsite requirement for candidates within commutable distance to SoCal offices.

You will manage real estate brokerage litigation from inception through trial, supervise outside counsel, prepare witnesses for deposition, and handle motions and strategic filings while collaborating with business partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of commercial litigation experience
• Some real estate brokerage experience preferred
• Some in-house legal department experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and interact well with all staff and management
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Consultative approach to supporting business objectives while mitigating risk
• High integrity and professional demeanor
• California Bar admission required

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of real estate brokerage litigation from inception through trial or settlement
• Litigate a personal docket of civil litigation matters and supervise outside counsel on selected matters
• Prepare and defend company witnesses at deposition and depose adversaries
• Draft, argue, and respond to motions, pleadings, and briefs
• Conduct legal research on complex issues and develop strategic recommendations
• Represent the company in court hearings, arbitrations, mediations, trials and regulatory proceedings
• Manage a docket of cases outside of CA handled by outside counsel
