Job summary

Hutchens Law Firm seeks Associate Attorneys and Lateral Transfers to join our growing practice across North and South Carolina, including Charlotte, Fayetteville, Southern Pines, Leland, and Columbia.

Ideal candidates will hold a JD, a valid license in NC and/or SC, and have 1+ years of experience in litigation, real estate, or creditors’ rights. Strong communication and organizational skills are required; multiple offices provide collaborative support.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in North Carolina and/or South Carolina.
• 1+ years of experience preferred (new graduates will also be considered).
• Experience in litigation, real estate, or creditors’ rights strongly preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload independently from inception through resolution.
• Attend court proceedings including trials, motion hearings, depositions, arbitrations, mediations.
• Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, discovery, and legal memoranda.
• Communicate with clients, brokers, lenders, witnesses, and opposing counsel.
• Collaborate with team members across multiple offices.
