Job summary

TrueStone LLC in New York seeks a seasoned Controller to oversee financial operations across real estate and lending divisions. You will manage accounting, financial reporting, cash flow, and coordination with staff and external partners.

This is a full-time on-site role with collaboration across senior leadership. The position requires a CPA, a Bachelor’s in Accounting, 5+ years of controller experience, and strong QuickBooks/Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• CPA certification.
• Minimum 5+ years of accounting or controller experience.
• Experience in real estate, lending, or investment management preferred.
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience managing cash flow, AP/AR, and banking relationships.
• Knowledge of tax compliance and financial reporting.
• Ability to train and manage staff and collaborate across teams.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain QuickBooks files for real estate deals.
• Manage quarterly investor distributions and waterfall distributions.
• Account for Construction-in-Process projects and oversee cash flow.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable and coordinate with staff.
• Collect funds and investor contributions for new syndications.
• Maintain QuickBooks for lending company and perform journal entries.
• Prepare monthly lending reports and distribute partner statements.
• Coordinate with CPA to prepare tax returns for all TrueStone entities.
• Train and manage staff across teams.
