Job summary

Middleburg Communities offers a paid Summer Analyst Internship at our Vienna, VA headquarters, working with our Investment Management and Capital Markets teams for 8–10 weeks. You’ll build Excel models, support underwriting for acquisitions, and develop investment memorandums and investor presentations.

This hands-on program provides exposure to investments, capital markets, acquisitions, property management, and development, with mentorship from senior leadership and a collaborative team

Qualifications

• Current Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's program in Real Estate, Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related program required at an accredited college or university
• Desire to learn all aspects of real estate industry to accelerate your development and learning to build your career upon
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including building models and data analysis
• Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills using MS Word and PowerPoint
• Strong time management skills, including the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a timely manner
• Ability to be a self-starter; build knowledge of transactions and industry terms; contribute beyond direct scope of role

Responsibilities

• Build financial models using Excel to evaluate historical and future data projections on financial performance for the investment management team
• Provide underwriting support for prospective acquisition and development ventures using Excel models for investment strategy review
• Create investment memorandums and assist in preparing investor presentations and reports for the capital markets team
• Perform property due diligence and market research for the asset management team
• Conduct comprehensive analysis on performance for critical operating activities like leasing and renewals to assist the property management teams
