Job summary

Flaherty & Collins Properties is seeking an Investments Intern for Summer 2027 at our Indianapolis corporate headquarters. You will analyze investments, build financial models, and support due diligence across multifamily opportunities while collaborating with Development, Acquisitions, and Asset Management teams.

You will gain hands-on experience in market research, underwriting, and capital-raising discussions, developing skills for a career in real estate investment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Business, or related field.
• Strong Excel skills and financial acumen are expected.
• Demonstrated interest in real estate through coursework or activities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investment analysis for multifamily acquisition and development opportunities.
• Develop and maintain detailed financial models with financing structures, budgets and projections.
• Support due diligence by analyzing market trends, zoning/entitlements, costs, and lease-up assumptions.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform rent projections and benchmarks.
• Assist in preparing investment memoranda, presentations, and reports for internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Development, Construction, Acquisitions, and Asset Management to support project strategy.
• Monitor budgets/timelines and identify risks, overruns, and mitigation opportunities.
• Analyze project performance against underwriting and assist in reforecasting during construction/lease-up.
• Research capital market trends to support funding strategies.
• Participate in meetings and gain on-site exposure at Flaherty & Collins properties.
