Job summary

Mission Staffing in New York, NY is seeking a Controller to lead accounting, finance, and reporting for real estate investment portfolios, with a focus on closed end funds. You will manage a small accounting team and partner with senior leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting.

The role requires overseeing direct real estate investments, complex JV reporting, budgeting, and regulatory considerations, while coordinating with asset and portfolio teams to fulfill investor requests.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the accounting and reporting of direct real estate investments and complex joint ventures
• Manage team of accountants and of third‑party managers
• Review closing entries for asset acquisitions, dispositions and financings
• Work with the firm’s corporate accounting and performance measurement teams
• Assist with the calculation of the firm’s performance metrics, the corporate budget, and regulatory requirements
• Work closely with internal asset management and portfolio management teams
• Handle investor requests, interact with clients as needed
