Job summary

Jobot seeks an accomplished Controller to lead the financial strategy and operations for a growing residential real estate development organization in Massachusetts. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience.
• Direct experience within residential real estate development or closely related real estate environment.
• CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred.
• Strong technical accounting foundation with strategic hands-on ability.
• Advanced financial modeling and real estate pro forma experience.
• Experience with debt financing, refinancing, lender negotiations, and/or joint ventures.
• Experience working with real estate accounting or ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company growth objectives.
• Serve as a strategic financial advisor to executive leadership.
• Evaluate capital structures and financing strategies.
• Provide financial insight supporting investment and development decisions.
• Lead financing efforts for residential development projects, including debt, loans, and joint ventures.
• Establish and maintain relationships with lenders, investors, and financial partners.
• Monitor debt covenants and lender reporting requirements.
• Lead capital-raising initiatives and financial presentations.
• Evaluate refinancing opportunities and overall cost of capital.
• Direct annual budgeting and long-term financial planning.
• Review development pro formas and assess project feasibility.
• Monitor project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and return metrics.
• Provide scenario analysis and financial modeling for investment decisions.
• Identify opportunities to improve project profitability and capital efficiency.
• Oversee accounting operations and financial reporting.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
• Oversee external audits and tax filings.
• Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
• Monitor the financial performance of residential development projects.
• Analyze project costs, variances, cash requirements, and profitability.
• Evaluate project performance against budgets and investment expectations.
• Implement financial controls and reporting processes across development activities.
• Assess financial and operational risks.
• Maintain effective internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
• Monitor financial exposures and address issues.
