Job Description

Experience: Senior Level

Salary: $200,000 - $225,000 per year

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Financial Leadership:
  • Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company growth objectives.
  • Serve as a strategic financial advisor to executive leadership.
  • Evaluate capital structures and financing strategies.
  • Provide financial insight supporting investment and development decisions.
  • Capital Management & Financing:
  • Lead financing efforts for residential development projects, including debt, loans, and joint ventures.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with lenders, investors, and financial partners.
  • Monitor debt compliance, loan covenants, and lender reporting requirements.
  • Lead capital-raising initiatives and financial presentations.
  • Evaluate refinancing opportunities and overall cost of capital.
  • Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Modeling:
  • Direct annual budgeting and long-term financial planning.
  • Review development pro formas and assess project feasibility.
  • Monitor project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and return metrics.
  • Provide scenario analysis and financial modeling to support investment decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project profitability and capital efficiency.
  • Accounting & Financial Reporting:
  • Oversee accounting operations and financial reporting.
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Oversee external audits and tax filings.
  • Maintain appropriate accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Development & Project Financial Oversight:
  • Monitor the financial performance of residential development projects.
  • Analyze project costs, variances, cash requirements, and profitability.
  • Evaluate project performance against budgets and investment expectations.
  • Implement financial controls and reporting processes across development activities.
  • Risk Management & Compliance:
  • Assess financial and operational risks.
  • Maintain effective internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Monitor financial exposures and proactively address potential issues.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
  • Establish clear expectations and accountability.
  • Build a high-performing finance organization capable of supporting future growth.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience.
  • Direct experience within residential real estate development, homebuilding, multifamily development, or a closely related real estate environment.
  • CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred.
  • Strong technical accounting foundation with the ability to operate strategically and hands‑on.
  • Advanced financial modeling and real estate pro forma experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with debt financing, refinancing, lender negotiations, and/or joint ventures.
  • Experience working with real estate accounting or ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of project-level financial performance and development economics.
