Job summary

WhiteCap Workforce Solutions seeks a Real Estate Construction Accountant to support a leading anti-poverty organization in New York, NY. You will maintain general ledger accounts, track CIP and budgets, and prepare cost reports and journal entries.

Responsibilities include assisting with lender draws, cost certifications, audits, and regulatory compliance, coordinating with Finance, Real Estate Development, lenders, and external partners. Strong Excel and GL experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience in real estate development, construction, nonprofit housing, or publicly financed projects.
• Knowledge of construction accounting, capitalized costs, development budgets, and project cost tracking.
• Experience with lender draws, requisitions, or cost certifications preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills with complex spreadsheets and reconciliations.
• Familiarity with general ledger systems and multiple entities (JV/LP) preferred.

• Prepare journal entries, monthly reconciliations, cost reports, and budget-to-actual analyses.
• Assist with lender and agency draw packages, including AIA requisitions and supporting documentation.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and management reporting.
• Assist with annual audits, development cost certifications, and regulatory compliance requirements.
