Job summary

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority seeks a Senior Director of Real Estate Asset Management to oversee the leased property portfolio and ensure strategies support operations, asset performance, and capital management. You will coordinate with MBTA teams for properties at major hubs and guide asset optimization, redevelopment, and new acquisitions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and 10+ years in real estate asset/portfolio management.
• Experience overseeing leased commercial or institutional properties and capital planning.
• Experience evaluating and negotiating complex real estate deals for large assets.
• Supervisory/leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary liaison for planning, developing and implementing third-party leased facilities.
• Oversee third-party MBTA assets including facilities management and compliance.
• Identify, assess and resolve lease and capital needs across assets; develop recommendations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to optimize asset use and keep facilities in good repair.
• Lead scoping, feasibility analyses for facility needs and capital projects.
• Oversee budgets for maintenance and capital planning for leased properties.
• Provide guidance on reliability, modernization and expansion initiatives.
• Coordinate cross-departmental efforts and communicate priorities to leadership.
