Job summary

The Senior Director of Real Estate Asset Management at MBTA oversees MBTA's leased property portfolio including South Station, North Station, and Back Bay, ensuring spaces meet MBTA standards and align with long-term asset performance and capital planning.

You will supervise a growing team, manage third-party leases, and coordinate with Facilities, Capital Delivery, Engineering, Planning, and Asset Management to drive capital planning, risk management, and TOD initiatives across the system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; substitution options exist: master’s degree or recognized certifications as substitutes for experience.
• Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in real estate asset or portfolio management, including oversight of leased properties.
• Seven (7) years of supervisory/leadership experience.
• Experience evaluating and negotiating complex real estate deals and managing long-term capital needs across multiple properties.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all MBTA real estate assets, including facilities management, maintenance, and capital planning.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to advance asset initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for acquisitions, dispositions, consolidations, and redevelopments.
• Lead cross-departmental collaboration to optimize asset utilization and service delivery.
