Job summary

Vulcan Materials Company seeks a dependable driver to transport ready-mix concrete from batch plants to customer sites in Gloucester, VA. You will unload as per specifications, maintain slump, and inspect the mixer truck to ensure safe operation.

Responsibilities include communicating with dispatch, loading under batch plant supervision, and delivering with a focus on safety, accuracy, and customer service. CDL with tanker endorsement is preferred, with potential overtime and outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be able to understand and follow written and spoken instructions of a technical nature.
• Excellent driving skills and ability to maintain customer relations.
• Experience with ready-mix concrete trucks and tanker CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver ready-mix concrete to customer jobsites.
• Communicate with dispatcher via radio and phone.
• Position truck for loading and receive delivery tickets.
• Check water/t slump and adjust as needed.
• Safely drive to destinations and inspect the jobsite on arrival.
• Assist customers with access and unload materials.
• Rinse chutes and rear of truck to remove concrete buildup.
